SWMI Indivisible continues their Meet Me in The Middle series with “Talking Across the Political Divide”, a workshop led by 30 year workshop facilitator Lee Evans. The 3-hour workshop will explore why political conversations so often go off the rails, learning and practicing a simple method for talking across political differences without escalating tension or abandoning core values, and reflecting on past conversations, and trying new approaches to find a better outcome. November 4 - 11. Operation Green Light. Kent County Veterans Services (KCVS) is proud to announce the launch of this year’s Operation Green Light initiative and will distribute 2,000 green light bulbs to light the county green in support of veterans. From November 4 - 11, residents and local businesses are encouraged to swap out their outdoor lights for green bulbs to show support for military veterans and highlight the resources KCVS offers. Now in its third year, Operation Green Light is a nationwide initiative led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers.
Tuesday, November 11, at 6 pm. Veterans Day Parade, downtown Grand Rapids. The parade will begin at Lyon Street NW & Ottawa Avenue NW, proceed along Monroe Avenue NW, turn left on Fulton Street W, and conclude with a ceremony of remembrance at Veterans Memorial Park.
